On 21st December 2021, EWINDO inaugurated its rooftop solar panel plant 752 kWp in the Main office, Purwakarta. On this occasion, Regent of Purwakarta, Anne Ratna Mustika, Managing Director EWINDO, Glenn Pardede, Deputy Managing Director EWINDO, Afrizal Gindow, and Vice President of Marketing PT Xurya Daya Indonesia, George Hadi Santoso officially inaugurated together.
Carbon emissions from unsustainable electricity generations are already polluting today’s environment and accelerating the impact of climate change on our planet. No wonder that the use of fossil fuels must be reduced.
PT East West Seed Indonesia (EWINDO) sees this issue as necessary as running the business sustainably for social, economic, and environmental purposes. Managing Director EWINDO, Glenn Pardede said Solar Panel Plant can reduce the use of fossil fuels by producing 1.059.868 kWh/year or equals to 989.917 kg/year of CO2 Carbon Emission. Thus, the total of reducing CO2 production is equivalently avoiding the use of 319. 936 kg/ year of petrol which can be converted to 12.420 of 10 years old trees. By producing their own electrical energy, EWINDO believes that solar panel plants can reduce the cost of electricity, and the need for fossil fuel, and also the excessive electric energy can be distributed to the local power plant.
This official inauguration signifies EWINDO as the first vegetable seed company in Indonesia and the first company in Purwakarta to use solar as an alternative to fossil-fuels-based electrical energy for its business processes. On top of that, the operation of this rooftop solar power plant is proof that the sustainability of our planet is one of EWINDO’s concerns for a better world, today and future.
